Born in 1985 at Lourinhã, in Portugal's west coast, pastry chef Márcio Baltazar is currently one of the most promising names in the world of Portuguese gastronomy.
His enviable path and vast experience in pastry dates back to 2003. With passages through Mozambique, Greece, Spain and England, Márcio chose Portugal to develop his talent and techniques in the art of pastry. He is, since 2015, Pastry Chef at the 2 Michelin Stars Ocean restaurant, located at VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa, in the Algarve, where he offers its guests his highly innovative and surprising creations. The secret, he says, lies in his unlikely combinations and the dedication to extracting the real flavour and essence of each product he uses.
