Lou Reed’s immortal song “Such a perfect day” was as soft as the afternoon breeze that accompanied us last Sunday at Herdade dos Grous, VILA VITA’s vineyard and organic farm located in the heart of the Alentejo, with a vast area of olive groves, cork, oak trees and lakes. An idyllic place to celebrate the beginning of the fourth edition of the most awaited gastronomic event in Portugal, which takes place at Vila Vita Parc, throughout the week, until 13 May.
Chefs Ljubomir, Rui Prado, Hans Neuner, Paulo Fortes and Manfred Kickmaier, with their art of fire, presented us with an authentic barbecue feast, accompanied by regional delicacies, wine that flowed easily, under the refreshing shade of the trees and the vast green fields that contrast with the blue of the lake and the sky...
Lou was right. And for those present, we could well say - "I'm glad I spent it with you".
